CADM recognizes the need to balance the interest of consumer's privacy rights with the interest of the direct marketing industry in ethically collecting and sharing information about consumers. CADM and its members (hereinafter collectively referred to as "CADM") commits to a general policy of responsible use of consumer information and specifically pledges:

• CADM shall obtain personal and private information about consumers through ethical and legal means.
• CADM shall use that information strictly for its marketing and research activities.
• CADM shall maintain accurate records of consumers.
• CADM shall secure and protect consumer records.
• CADM shall comply with all regulations and laws and specifically those pertaining to the privacy rights of consumers.
