Each month-ish we’ll post a curated collection of three interesting articles to satisfy your need for just a little sales funnel cake -- and we’ll keep it short and sweet.
If you think that sounds like way too many food metaphors, you would be right. Our only excuse is that this happens to be our inaugural issue of Marketing Snax. What’s happening in the world today makes us want to dig into some comfort food. (I swear, I was this close to buying a chocolate Twinkie when I was in line at Walgreens.) But fortunately, the world still needs marketing and that’s where we all come in. Enjoy this issue as a between-zoom-calls snack.
Ocean Spray juices TikTok star
After TikTok user @420Doggface208 (real name Nathan Apodaca) went mega-viral skateboarding, drinking Ocean Spray cranberry juice and lip-syncing to Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams, both the song and the juice got a bump. The 1977 song was No.1 on iTunes last week and Ocean Spray made a TV commercial using the original video and a myriad of the knock-offs that followed. Ocean Spray, which is an agricultural cooperative owned by more that 700 U.S. cranberry growers, showed Apodaca their gratitude with a new truck. Read more

Alan Ruck, who played Ferris Buellers buddy in the iconic 80’s movie Ferris Beuller’s Day Off, stars in an ad for garage door security featuring his kids hatching a plot that will sound very familiar to fans of the movie. Ruck also stars in HBO’s Succession. Read more
