Our journey through one year of COVID - Turning a potential disaster into a rousing success.

At the beginning of 2020, The Morton Arboretum’s spring direct marketing acquisition campaign was just off the presses and ready to drop.  Then COVID hit- along with the lockdowns that affected every household in The Morton Arboretum’s target marketing area, necessitating some tough decisions about that campaign – adapt it, abandon it?

What could not be abandoned were the monthly renewal campaigns that are the lifeblood of the membership operation. The challenge: how to make a membership renewal to an organization that just closed its doors -- and would remain fully closed for two-and-a-half months -- a viable and sensible option?

Join us on April 22 when Karin Jaros, The Morton Arboretum’s Director of Membership, will tell us about the decisions they made – and how they were able to use their robust member knowledge base to strategize, retool, and revamp to avoid a disastrous fiscal 2020.
