What could not be abandoned were the monthly renewal campaigns that are the lifeblood of the membership operation. The challenge: how to make a membership renewal to an organization that just closed its doors -- and would remain fully closed for two-and-a-half months -- a viable and sensible option?
Join us on April 22 when Karin Jaros, The Morton Arboretum’s Director of Membership, will tell us about the decisions they made – and how they were able to use their robust member knowledge base to strategize, retool, and revamp to avoid a disastrous fiscal 2020.
Karin is known for consistently “pushing the membership envelope." She is a creative strategist in non-profit membership marketing, focusing on innovative solutions using analytics and segmentation to maximize results. She joined The Morton Arboretum in 2005 following more than 16 years’ consulting in marketing and sales, strategy, and communications. Prior to that Karin held positions in the association publishing field, eventually leading the efforts as VP and Publisher for a major Chicago-based national association. Under Karin’s leadership, The Morton Arboretum won a First Place Tempo Award in 2019 for Direct Mail under $250K, and in 2020, they captured a Third Place Tempo for their Membership Acquisition Campaign. In 2018, Karin was honored with a special award from The Morton Arboretum for achieving the 50,000-household membership milestone. She has served on numerous business and community boards and has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and meetings.Register Now
